Colnago Dream Pista

so amazing. these frames really have the right name. i just don´t like the cinelli alter stem.

Gewicht nur 12,3 Kg !!!

"Only 12,3Kg weight" - ha!

this must be a nightmare. i must be sleeping! i hope i am!

look at this piece of crap on ebay. it costs 199€ with free shipping. you would do better if you´d just throw the 200 bucks right in your trash can.

the highlights:

- 26 inch wheels (barspinnin` yo?) - actually i think they look like 700c^^
- absolut modern retro design (!?)
- newest trend in 1920s style (wtf!?)
- only 12,3kg weight (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

by far the shittiest bike we´ve ever posted and we had several of cheap fixed gears. by comparison even a create bike looks like a cinelli.

take a closer look (and puke):

Vintage Gitane Track Bike on ebay right now. Very very nice bike.

seen today

at lidl leipzig/südvorstadt. pretty random fixed-gear conversion. columbus cromor tubing, flite, velocity rims... frame is obviously too small for it´s rider and it´s got maaaaasssssive rise at the handlebar section. nice ride though.

Hübner Georama

this frame was (probably) custom-built for michael hübner and it´s for sale at njs export.

if hübner rode it or not - it´s a pretty hot frame. unfortunately the njs export frames are all veeeery pricey. but maybe you can afford it?

details (taken from the njs export site):

Color/Silver
Headset/Hatta Swan Super Deluxe
BB/Shimano BB-7400
Seat tube/64.5cm c-t/57.5cm c-c
Top tube/60.5cm c-c
Rear/120mm
Seatpost diameter/27.0cm
Standover/84.5cm
Model Year/1991
Condition/This NJS Keirin track frame was built for World Champion sprint cyclist Michael Hübner when he participated in the Japan Keirin.. it seems it was not a good fit for him so he did not ride it for long. We have no written proof that this frame belonged to Hübner, but we picked it up from the Georama factory and they said this frame was his. Also, there is a little surface rust on the left side of the front fork drop but is otherwise in really great condition. True Temper RC2 tubing.

some 80ies impressions i found via google. there are quite much of these amazing shots to find on the net. don´t forget to check the textimas out they are riding.

if you are interested in the textima bikes or FES components i recommend these sites:

Heikos Diamant Rad

Fahrradsammler

Campafreak

except campafreak they are in german :/ maybe i´ll translate the important informations on these sites about textima and FES one day. for now i am sure you can try the google translation.

State Bicycle Co. - Valley of the Sun from State Bicycle Co. on Vimeo.

mass marked bikes trying to improve their image with hip videos... state bicycles and create are just examples of these scenester marketing efforts that come along with the fixed gear trend. in leipzig are quiet much people riding these bikes and every time i take a closer look to these i am wondering why they arent just break into pieces - ultra heavy steel frames and ultra low level parts...

don´t get mislead by these videos.
nice shots - bikes are still rubbish.

build your own bbq bike

unfortunately my cellphone cam totally messed up this shot. but the idea is great so you might at least get an impression of what it´s about.

thanks to caro!

DAAAAAAAAAAAMN SOAP OPERA ATTACK

hahaha this is for the funny moments in fixed gear:

we all know soap operas! it depends on you if you hate or not:

to speak for us, the guys who make this blog, I wish to make clear that we HATE soap operas even more than the 5.000.000 lame and boring video in FGFS - uhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!
Especially we hate German television soap opera, they are cheap in production and pretty bad in acting as well, and the drama is just bad ass nonsense - and now the tip of the iceberg:

one of the longest running soap opera called GZSZ (Gute Zeiten - Schlechte Zeiten (translated: good times - bad times)) included a scene where the character "AYLA" tries out riding a fixed gear bike - so how far have we come that this is a trendy hip aspect in life???
like the new lady gaga song also the daily news are worked into the drama story line...and now "FIXIES" - anyway check out the video!!!!

damn what a beautiful beast!

safety first

seen today in leipzig/gohlis. back in better days this used to be a peugeot road bike. although i am not a great fan of peugeot frames this one had a really bad fate i feel sorry for. it´s covered with checker foil and has load of other reflective gimmicks on it - even cat eyes in the frontwheel! ah and check out the superclean bike lock case at the downtube! man... poor bikey
