gurken über gurken

in building up bikes there´s a fine line between style and stupidity. as we mentioned before we are not fans of converted fixed gears. there might be some really nice builds out there but in the most cases they ruin road bike classics. saving a little more money for a proper trackframe would have been the right way for many people out there wanting to ride fixed. a lot of conversions arent even having a road bike frame as a base. you can even find old mountain and sport bikes with a fixed wheel. the results are often funny but i would rather walk than ride one of these bikes. here is a selection of fixed gears i found on facebook in several fixed gear groups. have fun looking at:

bling bling, prime time

spotted this nice colnago in front of the university - its a singlespeed now. I wonder how it looked like when it was used as a road bike??

shopping?

today I walked around the library and found this, just on a pinboard where you can announce that you search for language partners, job offers or just a track bike for 849€.
I like that, sweet bike too!

tv series about bicycle messengers "triple rush"

"Triple Rush gives you an insider's look at the chaotic workings of 3 different NYC courier companies as they battle for survival in this intensely competitive industry. We'll witness the bike messengers' hair-raising dashes through busy Manhattan streets -- speeding between cars, racing through red lights and doing battle with taxicabs -- all to earn a few dollars and support their lives in the fast lane. We'll also meet the dispatchers, who balance the needs of messengers who want non-stop, lucrative runs, customers who want excellent service and owners who want kick-ass couriers who don't make mistakes." Duro Fixie Pops

Another tire made for the skidding folks. Made by a company named "Duro" these "Fixie Pops" look quiet similar to the fyxation tires. I dont know anything about these except they´re foldable, come in 24c and various colors. If you want to check them out they are available on ebay and several bikestores on the net for about 30€ including shipping

Godefroot Pista

I found this beauty on Velospace today. This is what a classic trackbike should look like!

Walter Godefroot is a retired Belgian professional cyclist.

shizzle from da street

aye,

freewhelin´, no front brake, tightening the chain would be a hit, get some grips and barends...

all city big block frame set is a nice affordable frameset to me, but this guys really doesnt get it,
spotted in the center of Bremen...

endless pain of true spirit

captured near main station of Bremen.

so this is again a conversion, its fixed - I checked it.
What is doing a rear brake there? ...get a front brake!

and look at the second picture at the bottom, there we have some serious spoke issues within the front wheel.

the bar/stem combination I just ignore!

some more true spirit

spotted in the hipster quarter of Bremen.

pasculli bike manufactor shop

spotted in South-West Berlin: a shop by the brand name of Pasculli. They have some nice stuff there, nice guys and I never have been to a bike company showroom - I dig that. They only have one track frame which is stated as classic but runs on their website as urban? for 1100 Euro you can get the frameset (alu), shoes for 400€ (this is actually the rent of a flat for a family in some parts of Berlin). The track frame is going to have some complete bike option for 1500€ called then Bellini with break mounts and all that urban stuff you need - f not they have the pista for a cleaner look, indeed a bit pricey but Italian hand made...mhhh we like that!

Nice is, the track frame is also available as pursuit frame.

clean pista frame

true street spirit

If you look around you rarely see nice track bike builds. What you see on the streets where I live (aye STREETCREDITS!!!) you see cheap, ugly conversions, single speed bikes, shit bikes, rusty bikes, destroyed bikes, crazy people freewheeling with just a rear brake for the "fixie"-look, bikes you ask yourself - man this thing drives but it definitely releases the laws of physics?

used to be a nice bianchi, now its a converted to a single speed with a rusty chain and a ugly lock holder for a frame - show some love, at least to your bartape!

spotted in the hipster quarter of Bremen.

some hot "pista" shit

rattan bike

so how ugly is that!? as fuck!
