i made this shot at the "autostadt" in wolfsburg last week. they nearly sell everything labeled with volkswagen including this road bike with this pretty weird bar angle. it costs about 1100 - pretty much for a cheap shimano tiagra group and a cheap aluminium frame... and off course ugly as fuck...
i really can´t remember where i shot this. i think i was drunk....
shot of the day
"cycling against oil motivated wars"
seen today at the shop window of "fahrrad biela" - a small and nice bike shop in leipzig. leipzig has got plenty of bicycle shops - most of them are either equipped with asshole employees, a bad assortment or they have expensive prices. biela doesnt have specific fixed gear parts or a huge assortment of trendy bikestuff or whatever. it´s just a small shop with fair prices and nice employees for bigger repairs i can´t manage by myself. so if you have serious issues with your bike in leipzig check them out (Fichtestraße 16).
fixed-gear fashion show
mhhh I like the brand pedal.ed - seems like they have their own fashion show in Japan... never seen anything like that before!

fixed gear feature on broadcasting
On German broadcasting (channel "Deutschlandradio Kultur") has been a feature on fixed-gear (04.07.2010). In case you missed it like me you can read the manuscript - so the write up to that feature, its quite a bit long but worth the reading - sad wise I didn´t found a audio file of this!

Favorit - Czechoslovakian Track Bike
Found this jewel on Velospace. Since today I knew the brand Favorit only because nearly all eastgerman Diamant Cycles (former GDR) were equipped with Favorit derailleurs. Another remarkable fact: Favorit seemed to have their seat in Rokycany CZ, where we have been several times for the FLUFF Fest. I think I gotta watch out for czech Trackbikes next time I´m there :)
Queen - Bicycle Race
plenty of naked girls on road bikes... i´ve never seen that video before - weird but that song is definitely a hit!
Affinity Lo Pro
so if that isnt a clean build i dont know what. never saw this concor "sprint" version before maybe these are perfect for lo pros.
i need a HED3... *ggrrrmml*

beer cap bar ends
well that´s punk!
found on ebay.
desription:
"Draught" Beer Cap Bar End Plugs - By Mucky Nutz
Such a great product it almost needs no description, the picture says it all. But anyway...
These use an elastomer expander to grip inside the handlebars. The advantages being: -
* They will not come out by hand, tree or rock.
* They fit all handlebars with an inner diameter of 17mm upwards
Stick these 'draught' plugs into your handlebars. Tighten them up! Now drink! Have a beer! Then have another! Recycle the bottles! Then stick the tops on the Bar Tabs!! Jobs a good'un!
When too many trees have jumped out in front of you and scratched the tops to death simply change them for another pair.
For all those sceptics out there, the Bar Tab is wider than the bottle top (30mm) so simply apply a bit of common sense when fitting them and you won't shred your hands!
These use a black nylon end cap (to fit your bottle tops on), an elastomer expander, and stainless fasteners.
PMP Pista Bent Crankset
Non-straight crank arms have been introduced in the 80ies by several manufacturers. They were supposed to have advantages in pedaling and were ought to increase the pedal's propulsion power and to lessen energy dispersion on the downstroke. Today it´s a fact that as long as the distance from crank axle to pedal is fixed, there is no pedaling advantage in using bent crank arms. There are even more disadvantages to straight crank arms like more weight and more flex. But besides all technical advantages and disadvantages i think they look extraordinary and i would like to try them on a bike.

Cinelli (?) Track Bike
found this bike on velospace. i don´t think this is a real cinelli frame but regardless if it´s repainted or not this thing is awesome. i never saw a frame built like that - take a look at the geo and the toptube solution! weird but wonderful! although the shamals might not match the rest of the vintage parts the builder did a great job.
made in queens official trailer
no fixed-gears but a cool story. even to imagine having a full soundsystem on my bike makes me smile. i need to see that movie.

"always ride through the pain..."
i got a really great birthday present this year from my friends: a knog N.E.R.D. (thanks to all of you again with this)
i´m riding this thing for 2 weeks now and i love it. a detailed review of it will be written in the next weeks. i´m sure you know situtations when you are riding really hard and wonder how fast you might be now and there isn´t always a car to compete yourself with. so when i got the N.E.R.D. i was really interested what i could snatch with my amateur legs. today i made 51,1km/h (31,75mph) on a 48/15 gear ratio (3.2). it was the maximum i could do on my fixed gear by rolling down a small hill.
